Shalom House invites critics to inspect facilities amid dispute over property near primary school

 Christian-based rehabilitation centre Shalom House has invited critics to scrutinise its facilities, amid community concerns over a proposed location for its new residential quarters. Shalom House intends to move some of its female residents to a former nursing home, situated between a primary school and children's daycare centre. Locals have voiced safety concerns over the location in Craigie, in Perth's north. However, Shalom House founder Peter Lyndon-James has urged people to see the program and its residents for themselves before making any judgements. Australia's first complete plesiosaur fossil discovered in outback Queensland

 The complete head and body of an ancient marine reptile with "flippers like a turtle and long neck like a giraffe" has been uncovered in Queensland in what scientists say is a rare discovery. Palaeontologists unearthed the complete fossil of the plesiosaur near the remote western Queensland town of McKinlay after a property owner sent images to researchers. It is the first time in Australia the head and body of an elasmosaur, a type of plesiosaur, has been found in one piece. Museum of Tropical Queensland senior curator of palaeontology Espen Knutsen said he had been trying to find "such a fossil" for many years.
